Centura College’s Chesapeake campus invites the community to attend the grand opening of their Massage Therapy Clinic and Spa on Thursday, August 15th, from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. The event will take place at 932 Ventures Way in Chesapeake and is free and open to the public.
At the grand opening, visitors can take campus tours, enjoy a luncheon and receive free massages. Active students, alumni and bodyworkers from the Chesapeake community will have the opportunity to network face to face with employers who have immediate openings. Prospective students can view demonstrations and talk with employers about occupational possibilities within the industry, to include: clinics, spas, physician offices, hotels, fitness centers, cruise ships and personal businesses. Prizes will be raffled out to attendees, while supplies last.
“We are looking to grow our Massage Therapy program, because employers are calling us every day looking for our graduates! Massage Therapy is one of the fastest growing professions in the health care and wellness industry and we’re looking to do our part by training the next generation of massage therapists,” reported Ashley Oden, Campus Executive Director of Centura College, Chesapeake. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for massage therapists is expected to grow by 26% by the year 2026.
At Centura College’s Massage Therapy Clinic and Spa, clients can expect a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere while receiving their massage services by a student at comparable rate. “At Centura, the clinic simulation is an integral part of the curriculum as students prepare for employment in the massage therapy field,” states Oden. The Massage Therapy Clinic and Spa provides an opportunity for students to practice, refine and display the skills they have developed throughout their program. Students receive training based on sound evidence, ancient principles, ethical guidelines and professional integrity.
