Centura Campuses Salute Our Veterans
Centura College Norfolk is pleased to announce the opening of our new Veteran Center. It is our goal to be the most veteran friendly and empowering campus in our region by providing excellent service to our students. Our focus is to provide a variety of services that ease the transition from military service to campus life, develop and foster a community culture of past, present and future veterans, and continue to drive awareness of veterans issues, service and benefits. Here at Centura College Norfolk, we take pride in our veterans and will continue to offer them quality service and support through graduation and into rewarding careers.
Veterans Appreciation Day was hosted by the Centura Peninsula Veterans Center on August 25, 2015. The Veterans Center opened its doors to dependents, spouses, active duty, retired, and separated personnel on July 13, 2015. The Veterans Center provides military families with a place of solace, computer use, counsel and aid. The Center is equipped with information from surrounding military affiliations such as the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), the Navy College, the American Legion, Fleet and Family Support Centers, and especially the Veterans Administration (VA). The Veterans Affairs Officer on campus continue to provide resources focusing on veteran specific benefits, family life, retention, career development, and most importantly, academic success.
