NCLEX-PN Pass Rates for North Chesterfield Campus

Centura College, North Chesterfield Campus Celebrates High NCLEX-PN Pass Rates for the past 3 years and into 2013!

To say we are excited about our Centura College North Chesterfield Campus high NCLEX-PN Pass Rates is an understatement!  Developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Practical Nursing was implemented to ensure public safety by testing the knowledge, skills and abilities essential for the safe and effective practice of nursing throughout the industry.  All US state and territorial Nursing Boards require a passing result on the exam for licensure as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or licensed vocational nurse (LVN).

What is a Licensed Practical Nurse?

From The American Heritage® Stedman’s Medical Dictionary:

licensed practical nurse  li·censed practical nurse

Abbr. LPN, L.P.N.  A nurse who has completed a practical nursing program and is licensed by a state to provide routine patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or a physician.

Working on a winning streak!

Since 2009, Centura College North Chesterfield (Midlothian) has been improving our NCLEX-PN pass rates with a unique and highly successful in-house, NCLEX-PN preparation course.  This intense 4 day course is conducted by the Practical Nursing Program Coordinator, and provides a comprehensive review of the Practical Nursing course material, along with real life practical examples that enhance the students’ educational experience and further prepares them for the NCLEX-PN exam.

How successful is this Centura College NCLEX-PN Preparation Course?

In 2010, the North Chesterfield Campus of Centura College logged a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX-PN from June 2009 through June of 2010.  That is one solid year at a 100% pass rate and is almost unheard of for any nursing program!  Here are the official stats directly from the Virginia Board of Nursing:

In addition, our Practical Nursing program maintains full approval from the Virginia State Board of Nursing until the next on-site review, which is scheduled for May 2016.

Why is a high NCLEX-PN Pass Rate an important factor when considering a Practical Nursing school?

Schools that average 80% or higher on their NCLEX Pass Rate tend to be much more invested in their students individual career success for not only their academic career, but beyond that into their professional career as well.
