Massage Therapy Job Outlook and Career Infographic

Massage Therapy as a Career – Massage Therapists use the art of touch to heal and relieve pain and stress.  They  often specialize in different types of massages called modalities. Swedish massage, deep-tissue massage, and sports massage just to name a few, are some of the many modalities of massage therapy. Most massage therapists specialize in several techniques, which often require specialized training.

Massage therapists work in many different settings and conditions.  Private offices, spas, hospitals and fitness centers are just a few places you can find a massage therapist at work. Most massage therapists who are self-employed, provide their own equipment (table or chair, sheets, pillows and body lotions or oils).

A massage therapist’s working conditions can vary and often depend on the location and what the client needs are.
