Medical Assistant Pathways

Centura College is excited to offer our Medical Assistant students The Medical Assistant Pathways. The Pathways offer you the freedom to choose the level of education that best aligns with your career goals.

Begin your career training to become a Certified Medical Assistant in as little as 12 months. Once qualified, you can join the workforce in your field as a professional Medical Assistant. But that’s only the beginning. 

Centura College gives you the power to advance your education by choosing from multiple pathways. As you progress higher in your education, so does your skill set and earning potential.

Available Pathways

Medical Assistant with Limited Scope Radiologic Technology

Take your Medical Assistant Diploma and add training in X-ray technology needed to pursue licensure as a Limited Scope Radiologic Technician.

This program is available at the following campuses:

  • Chesapeake
  • Newport News
  • Norfolk

Medical Assisting – Clinical Support

Centura Medical Assistant students can also earn an Associate of Occupational Science Degree in Medical Assisting with a Concentration in Clinical Support.

This program is available at the following campuses:

Allied Health Management

Progressing in your educational goals, move forward to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. This program lets you choose a concentration in Allied Health Management or Operations Management.
