Internal Complaint Procedures
Centura College is approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) to participate in National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). SARA is a voluntary, collaborative agreement among states that provides quality assurance and consumer protection to distance education students who enroll in distance programs offered by out of state institutions.
Pursuant to the United States Department of Education’s Program Integrity Rule, each institution of higher education is required to provide all prospective and current students with the contact information of the state agency or agencies that handle complaints against post secondary education institutions offering distance learning within that state. Students are encouraged to use Centura College’s internal complaint procedures prior to filing a complaint with a state agency. Most concerns and complaints can be resolved at the campus level. However, after following the Centura College procedures, you may file a complaint with the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) through the student complaint process described on the SCHEV website.
If an issue cannot be resolved through Centura College’s internal processes and you decide to file a complaint with the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV), you may also contact the agency in your home state. A list of contacts within each state is online here.
